Most people picture free weights and a row of treadmills when they think of a gym. At 46,000 square feet, MAC is a lot more than that. We've got a full-size basketball court, two racquetball courts, a dedicated functional training room, a recovery studio, and a class schedule with more than 200 sessions a month. If you've only ever seen the weight floor, here's what else is waiting for you.
The basketball court
Our full-size court is open all day, every day we're open, for pick-up games whenever you show up. It's also home to organized leagues and MAC-run tournaments throughout the year, so if you'd rather play with structure than wait for a pick-up run to form, keep an eye on the schedule at the front desk. Beyond the fun of it, full-court basketball is one of the best conditioning workouts in the building. A few games will get your heart rate up faster than most cardio machines.
Racquetball courts
We have two racquetball courts, and they're a great option whether you've played for years or have never picked up a racquet. If you're new, start by booking solo practice time to get comfortable with the walls and the bounce before jumping into a match. Ask at the front desk about lessons if you want a faster start. Once you get the hang of it, racquetball turns into a sneaky-effective cardio workout: constant lateral movement, quick sprints, and almost no downtime between rallies.
The functional training room
Our 3,000 sq ft functional training room is built for movement that doesn't fit neatly on a weight rack. Turf for sled work, Olympic platforms for lifts, rigs for suspension and pull-up work, and open space to move. A few simple ways to use it if you've never trained there before:
- Sled pushes. Load a sled light and push it the length of the turf a few times. It builds leg strength and conditioning without beating up your joints.
- Farmer carries. Grab a heavy set of dumbbells or kettlebells and walk the room. It's simple, humbling, and builds grip and core strength fast.
- A 15-minute finisher. After a lifting session, close with a quick rotation of sled pushes, carries, and bodyweight work on the rig. It's an easy way to add conditioning without adding much time.
Group fitness classes
We run more than 200 classes a month across cycling, HIIT, yoga, Zumba, strength, and functional formats, unlimited with Legacy and Diamond membership. If you're picking your first class, start with something lower-impact like yoga or a beginner strength class to get a feel for the pace and the instructors before jumping into HIIT or cycling. You can see the live schedule and reserve your spot through the member portal at murfreesboro.clubautomation.com.

The recovery studio and saunas
Our recovery studio includes whole-body and localized cryotherapy, red light and infrared therapy, NormaTec compression boots, and a red light infrared sauna, all included for Diamond members at four sessions a month. Every member, regardless of tier, also has access to traditional saunas in both the men's and women's locker rooms, a simple way to wind down after any workout.
Refuel at the smoothie bar
Our on-site smoothie bar is run by a third-party nutrition partner and open right inside the building, so you can grab something on your way in or out without a detour. It's a small thing, but on a busy day it makes it a lot easier to actually eat something before or after training instead of skipping it.
A sample week that uses all of it
If you're not sure how to fit everything together, here's a realistic beginner-friendly week that touches most of the facility:
- Monday: Weight floor, upper body, followed by ten minutes in the sauna.
- Tuesday: A cycling or yoga class in the morning before work.
- Wednesday: Functional training room, sled pushes and farmer carries, finished with a smoothie.
- Thursday: Racquetball, solo practice or a match if you can find a partner.
- Friday: Weight floor, lower body, then a recovery session if you're a Diamond member.
- Saturday: Pick-up basketball or a weekend strength class.
- Sunday: Rest, or a light yoga class and time in the sauna.
You don't need to follow this exactly. The point is that MAC gives you enough variety to build a week that doesn't feel repetitive, which makes it a lot easier to stick with over time.
Every new member gets a free fitness assessment and a free personal training session. Use it to build a plan that actually fits the areas of the facility you're most excited about.
